Romania Becomes a New Focus Market for GMoney Group
GMoney Group is preparing to launch short-term digital consumer lending in Romania as part of its European expansion strategy.
Romania will be the Group’s first European market. The Group plans to enter it through a dedicated local platform that follows its proven model: online customer acquisition, automated scoring, digital loan origination and collections. The initial goal is to validate underwriting, unit economics and portfolio quality in the new market.
Romania’s non-bank lending sector is well developed and regulated: according to the National Bank of Romania, non-bank financial institutions held about US$12.8 billion in assets at the end of 2023. After the launch of short-term loans, the Group also plans to offer car-secured lending in Romania.
